BIOSTIMULATORS

Biostimulators are substances that stimulate collagen production when injected into certain layers of the skin. They can be used for long-term volume replacement and sagging reduction.

The substances most used for this purpose are:

Calcium

Hydroxyapatite – Radiesse

Poly-l-lactic acid – Sculptra

Polycaprolactone – Elansé

PDO wires

The main objective of these products is not filling, but biostimulation resulting from the stimulatory action on fibroblasts, cells that produce collagen fibers. Radiesse and Elansé can also have a plumping effect.

More collagen in the skin means firmer, less saggy skin. And this firmness improves the overall appearance of the face in a very natural and delicate way.

Collagen degradation in the human body occurs naturally from the age of 30 with an approximate loss of 1% per year. Excessive sun exposure, intense physical exercise, pollution and smoking can accelerate this process. The main clinical signs resulting from this phenomenon are: sagging, loss of volume, elasticity and natural skin hydration. Bone loss that occurs in the face also contributes to a more evident and pronounced aging appearance.

The application of biostimulators promotes the formation of new collagen, providing a recovery of the firmness lost over the years and an improvement in the quality of the skin.

How many sessions do I need to do?

Treatment protocols suggest one to three monthly sessions, with annual maintenance. Depending on the degree of sagging the number of sessions will be defined. Younger skins usually a session already brings an improvement and serves as prevention. More mature skins generally need more sessions and combined treatments.

Where can the Biostimulator be applied?

Cheeks, Jaw, Chin, Temples and Neck. PDO threads can be applied to the entire face, including the lower eyelids and barcodes.

How is the application?

The application process is similar to any other injectable filler. After identifying the areas that need it, a series of injections will be performed, painlessly and without needle, all done with a cannula.

What are the results of treatment with Biostimulators?

They help in the subtle recovery of facial volume, reduce wrinkles and expression marks and improve the sagging of the regions where it was applied. Its effects are gradual and lasting, as the body continues to produce collagen for up to 6 months after treatment. The result is rejuvenation and a natural recovery of the contours of the face.

The effects are noticed in 4/6 weeks after the first session with a final result after 3 months.

Sessions must be repeated every 30/60 days and the number of sessions varies from 1 to 3.
