THIGH LIFTING

Thigh lift or cruroplasty is surgery that reshapes the inner thighs. The procedure removes excess fat and skin in this region to give the legs a more natural and proportionate appearance.

Depending on individual circumstances, an internal, vertical, or external thigh lift approach will determine the number and location of incisions needed.

Who is a candidate for a thigh lift?

A person in good physical health, with a stable weight, who is unable to achieve the desired appearance through exercise and diet, loose or saggy skin on the thighs is indicated for the procedure.

Intended results

Although it takes several months for your body to fully recover, the results of thigh lift surgery are immediately apparent. The excess skin and fat is replaced by smooth, well-contoured thighs with some visible scars.

Description of procedure

Anesthesia is administered. The exact location of the incision depends on the plastic surgeon’s preference and the extent and location of the desired correction. The contour of the thighs is modeled. The incisions are closed with sutures. Occasionally, drainage tubes are needed.

Healing and recovery

It is extremely important that you carefully follow your plastic surgeon’s instructions. Your incisions will be bandaged and any drains placed temporarily. Once the initial swelling and bruising has subsided, the results will be immediately visible. It can take up to eight months for 100% of the swelling to completely subside. Surgical incision scars tend to improve for a little over a year.
